Mill Ford Summer Fayre raises £1832.78

Updated: Feb 29

What a fantastic day we had at the Summer Fayre, albeit a bit windy!

With a huge amount of effort from the PTA and the volunteers, we raised the incredible amount of £1832.78 after expenses.

We are hugely grateful to everyone that bought raffle tickets, volunteered their time, attended the fayre and got the word out for us. A special thank you also needs to go to Bethany, who worked like a trooper helping us set up and running around on our behalf.

Well done to everyone involved and thank you to the community, the traders and especially Ann Chuwen and family who saved our bacon by providing slushies, donuts, sweets, donuts and a very generous donation. She also served a mean bacon bap as well lol!

There are also some shout outs to do and big thankyous to DJ Stormy, Stonehouse Symphony and all the people/businesses who donated prizes for the raffle, games and stalls.

Everyone should be very proud of themselves as every penny will be going towards enriching the lives of the students at the school.

Next year we are going bigger and better and hopefully raise even more money than this year!

Below are some more photos from the fayre and will also list everyone who donated towards the raffle or tombola prizes, and the names of the stall holders who were able to stay. Unfortunately 4 had to leave due to the wind.

The Fire Engine arrived later than anticipated, but as soon as they were set up, they were swamped with people

Glitter boutique aka Megan brought a little bit of pizazz, braiding hair and adding some glitter to peoples hair

The Amazing Stonehouse Symphony came along and provided fantastic entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Big thanks to Eugene, Stefan and Sarah for giving up their time

Lesley came along selling lots Body Shop products along with a number of other items on the day

Julie aka Get Our Drift sold fantastic items made from pieces of drift wood, sand, shells and a number of other things

Holbrooks Sweety Factory and Lisa's Gift Box, teamed up to provide lots of various items including Toxic waste sweets, that the kids thoroughly enjoyed.

Bubbles and Baskets had lots of lovely smelling wax melts, air fresheners, diffusers, candles and lots more besides. Claire is a little shy, hence the picture of the stall only

Friends and Families were the only charity on the day, providing information regarding various services they can provide. Fran was absolutely fantastic and stayed the whole day, even though she felt a bit under the weather

Danielle another shy one lol. Plenty's More had lots of fun items available on the day including slime, games and amongst other things. She also sold some cool hats!

Jason from BB Excell Designs was a great addition to the fayre. Selling lots of items with designs from the African Culture. Some lovely items available on the day. Also a big thanks to Bridget the owner for stepping in with just 2 days notice and holding this stall at the fayre

Williams Ice Cream provided a fantastic service with lovely ice creams and lollies on the day to cool everyone down

These girls also stepped in at the last minute due to a cancellation, providing a fantastic stall, with slushies, sweets, hot fresh donuts and smiles all day. A huge thank you to Ann Chuwen and family for providing delicious food as well on the Burger Van (oops forgot to take a photo on the van), and for providing a very generous donation.

Ann also commented on how polite and well-mannered all the children were, saying please and thank you at all times. She said it was lovely to see and is looking forward to returning next year

DJ Stormy played a blinder all day, with people dancing and enjoying the music. He also gave a great donation for our raffle which will provide free entertainment to the lucky person for an evening.

Whizz Kids were absolutely fantastic! What an amazing company that came along and provided free entertainment for the children, helped educate when the children were spending money, and also provided glitter and face tattoos extremely cheap.

A great organisation that provided all of this free of charge!

Amazing company!

Lennon and Jayden manned the Teddy Bear stall all day!

They sold an incredible amount of Teddys raising lots of money for the school.

We are very grateful for volunteering and helping out

The Toys/Bric a Brac/Book/DVD store also raised a fantastic amount of money.

Big thanks to our volunteers, Dionne, Kelli, Ellie, Teri, Simon, Mark (ex student who was amazing), Alix, Kate, Jayden, Lennon, Bethany, Toree, Kelly, Kathy and Diane

Also as you see, Hayden had a great time at the fayre, enjoying the games, buying goods and dancing lots.

More photos and details will be added to the page as I get them!

Also, there are some people in the background who also helped with the day, they include Keith for arranging opening up, sand, tables and so much more. Claire the receptionist for helping with the raffle and lots more besides.

Claire Wills for allowing us to hold the fayre on a Saturday and providing guidance and support wherever needed.

Finally the last thank you is to the PTA.

The PTA consists of Cat, Karen, Fran, Tony, and Jay

This was the 1st time we had as a team organised something like this and it was a very steep learning curve indeed. It took many days of planning, multiple meetings to ensure everything was booked and the event was held to a legal standard. We literally started from scratch and managed to pull off a very successful day
